Kapa haka rōpū supported by IDEA Services will take to stages all around the motu over the next few weeks for IDEA Services’ Regional Kapa Haka Festivals.

Te Atakura Ryan, Kaitakawaenga from Te Anga Pāua says roopu have been practising for months in the lead up to the festivals. “They’ve all been working tremendously hard. Everyone is very excited to get up on that atamira and show what their rōpū can do.” She says.

Polly Pompey who is a member of Te Roopu Hinengaro o Kaute got inspired to join a kapa haka group after watching other roopu on TV and You Tube. “I like learning new songs and actions,” she says.
